Over the year, Indonesia’s tech-investment has been under appreciated by local investors. But this year, 2010, will be a starting point for Indonesian startups to open the eyes of investors and all major businesses about the power of local startups to change the world. Sarah Lacy, Editor at Large, Techcrunch.com. Sarah Lacy is an award winning journalist who has spent more than a decade writing about nearly everything in Silicon Valley, from the largest publicly traded companies to the tiniest startups. She is the editor-at-large for TechCrunch.com and author of the critically-acclaimed book, “Once You’re Lucky, Twice You’re Good: The Rebirth of Silicon Valley and the Rise of Web 2.0″ (Gotham Books, May 2008). Lacy is now working on her second book, which is about entrepreneurship in the developing world. She lives in San Francisco.
Danny Oei Wirianto, Chief Marketing Officer Kaskus Networks and Founder of SemutApi Colony. Danny Wirianto spearhead the marketing, sales and business development activities on Kaskus. Creating new business model and growing Kaskus as one of the biggest internet player in Indonesia and SEA. Re-branded Kaskus’ image from a pornography board forum into a close-knit online community with over 2 million users and increasing growth every year.
Armand Hartono, Director BCA (Bank Central Asia). Mr. Armand Wahyudi Hartono has been Director of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk since September 14, 2009. He was Finance Director of PT Djarum and a Global Credit Research and Banking Analyst at JP Morgan Singapore. He graduated from California State University in San Diego before studying Engineering Economy System at Stanford University.
Satya Witoelar, Chief Creative Officer Koprol/Yahoo!. Born in Bandung, grew up in Jakarta, graduated and started career in architecture. A Social media geek with ten years of experience as freelance web designer under the name Tulakom. Satya designed the user interface, writes the blog, founded Koprol together with Fajar, Daniel and Leo. Now a Design and Community Manager at Yahoo! Indonesia after Yahoo! acquired Koprol in 2010 for an undisclosed amount.
Michael Smith Jr. (Smitty), Director of Global Initiatives at Yahoo!. Focusing on APAC and Emerging markets and work with corp dev and APAC management to help position Yahoo! through business development, partnerships and acquisitions. Prior to Yahoo!, Michael has been living in Thailand studying Thai, working within the technology startups across Southeast Asia and consulting with various companies across the region on their social media strategies. Before moving to Thailand Michael worked for BEA Systems, Inc. in Hong Kong while managing their developer marketing strategies for Asia Pacific.
Rama Mamuaya, Founder of DailySocial.net. Rama founded and run DailySocial.net since 2008 and focusing on getting Indonesian webpreneur exposure to the mainstream media and also to help them off the ground. DailySocial.net is the first tech-blog covering Indonesia’s web startup scene and a community-based blog where Rama held startup-related events to hangout with netpreneurs and influential people in the Tech industry.
